Due to rain NASCAR is going to be throwing out a competition yellow around lap 50.

After the green flag finally dropped Kevin Harvick busted out into a quick lead. He kept on leading laps while Kurt Busch was in second place. The competition yellow though came out a bit early as on lap 41 Joe Nemecheck has a tire go down and smashes into the wall. The cars pit for service and Kevin Harvick keeps the lead of the race.

At the drop of the green flag Scott Speed wound up with some heavy damage to the front of his car. He was able to bring onto pit road without brining out the caution. A couple laps into this green flag run and Jeff Gordon was in second.

At lap 60 he was in the lead of the race. Three laps later and David Stremme winds up spinning out for caution two on the day. At the drop of the green flag again it was Jeff Gordon quickly getting the lead of the race. It was not long though and the caution for a David Reutimann Spin.

This time we had a battle for the lead of the race after the restart, but Jeff Gordon won it. Jeff also wound up being told by NASCAR to keep a steady pace on restarts. Around lap 106 it was Kevin Harvick and his car going bye bye. Around 20 laps later and it was Juan Pablo Montoya hitting the wall hard, but he was able to bring the car back behind the wall for repairs.

The caution finally came out again on lap 163 for a Greg Biffle spin. Mark Martin and Kurt Busch stay out this time while a whole host of other cars come in for service. Mark Martin quickly got the lead of the race in the restart, but in the back Elliott Sadler spins out to help bringing out the caution.

This time it was Kurt Busch winning the lead of the race, but at lap 190 it was Mark Martin back in the lead. At lap 199 Jeff Burton and his fresher tires put him back into the lead of the race. Kurt Busch kept on slowly falling back at this time.
At lap 230 it was Denny Hamlin getting the lead of the race. Then in a couple laps both Regan Smith and Robby Gordon have tire problems and could not get on pit road so the caution comes out. By this time Kurt Busch was all the way back in 14th position. This caution brought in the leaders and Denny Hamlin won the race off pit road.

Denny led a few more green flag laps and Jeff Burton got the lead of the race again on lap 250. At lap 287 it was Juan Pablo Montoya with another tire problem, but he was able to get it to pit road for service. With 200 laps left it was Regan Smith with tire problems and he made it back to pit road safely. A couple laps later and Elliott Sadler spins out again to bring out the caution.

This time it was Jeff Burton winning the race off pit road. Jeff Burton got the lead of the race after a short fight for it. Then Marcos Ambrose got spun out with help from David Ragan. This did not bring out the caution, but his next spin quickly after it did.

With 24 laps left though it got to be another battle for the lead of the race. It did not last long and then Jeff Burton wound up with tire problems with nine laps left he tire blew out to bring out the caution. The caution brought in the leader Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch and few more cars. This put Jeff Gordon into the lead of the race with Denny Hamlin back in ninth.

Jeff Gordon quickly got the lead. With four laps left into turn one it got three wide at the place with Denny Hamlin going low to pass cars. Then it was the caution coming pout for the wrecking car of Kyle Busch.

At the time of the caution Denny was up to fourth. The green/white checker comes out and it was a wild restart that saw Matt Kenseth having to go low in order to get the lead of the race. Then Matt Kenseth gets shoved up to the high side to put Denny Hamlin into the lead with Joey Logano in second.
