Kevin Gets Another Guitar

Joey Logano won the poll today for the Nashville 300 as drivers go the special guitar for the winner. Rain before the race though wound up cleaning up most of the rubber out on the track.

"Had a real good qualifying run," said Colin Braun.

It was snot long before the first caution of the day came out as John Wes Townley spins out on lap 3. Joey Logano kept on leading lap as Kevin Harvick tried ton get the lead, but at lap 31 it was competition caution time.

During pit stop it was Kevin Harvick getting the lead of the race. After the green flag dropped it was not a long green flag run and Jason Leffler on lap 43 crashing. "As far as Iknow he(James Buescher) lost it," said Jason.

This finally led to the first long green flag run of the day. Brad Keselowski started out leading then Joey Logano took over at lap 48. Kevin Harvick was getting fast and then finally got the lead of the race on lap 86. Green flag racing continued and it was green flag pit stops starting around lap 101. Almost all of them got done and on lap 105 it was Ricky Stenhouse Jr. who looked like he was going to pit road got punted by Joe Nemechek.

This allowed over 20 plus cars the right to go around the pace car to get back on the lead lap with Scott Wimmer leading the race.

At lap113 the green flag dropped again, but 4 wide racing in the back wound up causing a big wreck the in turn three and brought out the red flag. The drivers involved were Jason Keller, Michael McDowell, Steve Wallace, Colin Braun and Brian Scott.
"We had a good solid run," said Michael McDowell. "Got clipped in the right rear," said Steven Wallace.

After 15 minutes of red flag time it went back to yellow flag time and Carl Edwards came down pit road to fix damage on the front of his car.

Lap 122 saw Joey Logano get back into the lead of the race by passing Scott Wimmer. At lap 134 it was Willie Allen and his engine going south to bring out the next caution. Another Short green flag run and on lap 143 Jason Leffler and James Buescher get together. James and his car gets on fire. James stated that what Jason did was intentional.

This caution brought in cars on the lead lap for service. Jason Leffler though winds up getting parked for the rest of the race due to aggressive driving. "My car was really tore up," said Jason.

With 65 laps left Joey Logano was in the lead with Brad Keselowski in second. Brad was getting faster and passed Joey for the lead with 52 laps left. Around 44 laps left and Brad comes down pit road for service, one lap later and Joey is in for service.
This put Kyle Busch into the lead of the race. With 34 laps left though debris from the Derrike Cope car brings out the caution. Doing only a two tire stop was Kevin Harvick to take the lead of the race off pit road.

At the drop of the green flag Kevin started to lead more laps while Brad Keselwoski was moving up through the cars in the lead lap in a hurry. Joey though was having a bit tougher time moving up through the field.

With 15 laps though Brad was around 4 second back of Kevin for the lead of the race. Reed Sorenson in second place was starting to reel in Kevin with less than 10 laps to go, but in the last couple of laps Kevin wound up with no traffic to help him win the race.

"Just a lot fun to drive today," said Kevin Harvick. He also stated that track position was going to pay off for him in the end.
"I felt we had the best car today on the long run," said Ernie Cope who is the crew chief for Kevin Harvick.

Kyle Busch stated we were just off a little today. "Good run for us."

"I thought we could get him," said Reed Sorenson.
