The Rowdy One Is Back On Top

Kyle Busch has the poll for the Crown Royal Presents the Keith Calhoun 400 on a hot night for some short track racing earlier in the week. "Our car seems to be pretty good," said Kyle Busch.

It was the Kyle Busch show to start the race off as he started to lead laps. Green flag racing continued with him in the lead and the caution finally came out on lap 44 for Joe Nemechek that blew a tire. The leaders pitted and Kyle Busch kept the lead of the race.

Kyle Busch continued to dominate as we got a massive long green flag run this time. Jimmie Johnson and his car was a bit junky and started to slowly fade backwards while Denny Hamlin and his car got hot and started to slowly move up through the field.

Around lap 130 Kyle had put around half the field one lap down. At lap 142 Kyle Busch and a bunch of other cars start green flag pit stops. After they were over Kyle Busch had around 10 cars left on the lead lap. The caution finally came out on lap 153 for debris.

The around 8 cars that were left on the lead lap came in for service while over 15 cars that were one lap down too the waive around rule to stay on the lead lap. Kyle Busch kept on leading more laps on the short green flag run as another debris caution comes out on lap170.

This brought in the 25 plus cars that were on the lead lap come in for service. Ryan Newman with a two-tire stop takes the lead of the race. When the green flag dropped again Kyle Busch was quickly able to take the lead of the race again.

After a wile on this long green flag run Jeff Burton started to get hot and by lap 225 he was right behind him wanting to get the lead of the race. Jeff Burton finally got to lead the race at lap 230. Jeff Burton gets into traffic and had trouble passing Tony Stewart which helped get Jeff Gordon back into the lead of the race. Kyle and his car was not good at this time and started to slowly go backward.

Around 135 laps to another round of green flag pit stops started. After the pit stops cycled through Jeff Gordon was back in the lead again. With 70 laps left Jeff Gordon was leading Kevin Harvick by 3 seconds. Kyle Busch though was stuck in 4th place, bit 7 seconds back.

30 more green flag laps go by and Jeff has increased his lead to around 4.5 seconds. Cars around this time started to come in for another round of green flag pit stops. The caution though finally comes out with 34 laps left as Elliott Sadler spins out.

Cars up front stay out with a bunch of cars in the back of the lead lap come in for service. Kyle Busch on four fresh tires was able to pass a couple of cars and then with 21 laps left David Regan spins out to bring out the caution.
The green flag drops with 15 laps left and it quickly got three wide for second. Kyle Busch had to settle for third place spot. With 12 laps left Kyle Busch was able to get into second place and then Sam Hornish Jr. crashes to bring out the caution.

With five laps left Kyle Busch on the restart was able to power his way to the lead of the race and then go on to win the race. Behind him though, right after the race was over, a few cars started wrecking.

"Unbelievable to be back in victory lane," said Kyle Busch.

"He(Kyle) was head and shoulders above everyone," said Jeff Gordon.

"This is what we needed tonight," said Jeff Burton on his fourth place finish.
