At the end of the Sprint Cup season Marcos Ambrose is going to be leaving JTG Daugherty Racing. On the NASCAR Now show he has that has not signed on with any other ASCAR team.
Scenedaily.com reports on James Finch looking for sponsors, that he is not closing, and has had no discussions with Rick Hendrick on Kasey Kahne.
In some Nationwide Series News Aric Almirola who was ion the #88 car this weekend at ORP got a 25 point fine, The owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. picked up a 25 point fine and Tony Eury Sr. get a 10 grand fine for an unapproved left front shock absorber.
Some quick Marcos Ambrose thoughts:
If he was to stay in NASCAR and drive for a new team his only choices right now for next season are Red Bull Racing in place of Scott Speed if Red Bull Racing dumps him or even in the Brian Vickers spot if he does not return. The Elliott Sadler ride or even the Kasey Kahne ride at Richard Petty Motorsports could be open next season and that could easily be an improvement from where he was last season.
But who could replace him though???
You could put in Michael Waltrip Racing Nationwide Series driver Trevor Bayne in, but I feel he needs more time down in the Nationwide Series before moving him onto the next level.
Kasey Kahne would be nice for one season, but it would probably be less of a car than what he is driving right now imo.
Elliott Sadler would be a nice fit if they are thinking long term with a driver. The ride would be at the same level as he been driving.
Bobby Labonte would be an interesting choice, but age could be a factor. The ride certainly would be a major improvement over what he has been driving imo.
Scott Speed would be a daring choice, but he has yet to really show any greatness at Red Bull Racing yet so I do not see him moving over to that team.
I like Marcos and hopes that he stays for a longer time in NASCAR.
