Bowyer On Fumes Wins The Race

Clint Boyer New Hampshire.jpgThe Sprint cup drivers are back In New Hampshire for thr Sylvania 300 for the start of the chase. Brad Keselowski picked up his first ever Sprint Cup poll earlier in the week. "Qualified decent," said Kyle Busch. "Feel really good about today," said Jeff Gordon. Carl Edwards stated that it is going to come down to who has the fewer bad days into who wins th championship.

Brad Keselowski led lap one as three wide racing started out in the race. Then Tony Stewart took over the race lead on lap 2. At lap 4 more three wide racing occurs that almost sent Jimmie Johnson spinning out. Tony kept on leading laps and the caution pops up on lap 25 as Scott Speed winds up crashing. The leader pits. Clint Bowyer takes two tires and lead the race off pit road. The other cars in the top ten do the same thing, but Tony Stewart takes on four tires and comes out 18th.

In the next green flag run Tony Stewart was able to march his way up the field to tenth while Clint Boyer was leading laps. The caution came out on lap 40 as Marcos Ambrose and Paul Menard get together. This caution brought in only cars in the back for service.

Then we got on very long green flag run. Clint Bowyer started to lead more and more laps and busted out to a 5 second plus lead over Carl Edwards as pit stops started around lap 96. A.J. Allmendinger wound up running out of fuel which wound up sending him one lap down. Everyone though on the racetrack though stopped in this time period. At lap 105 Clint was back in the lead and started to increase his lead even further. Tony Stewart though was still slowly moving up the field at this time. Clint and his seven second plus lead finally went away at lap 147 as a debris caution came out. The caution brought in all the leaders which all took four tires this time. Clint Bowyer was still able to keep the lead of the race off pit road.

The race restarts again and in the back it got wild again as cars were making some bold move to gain some spots on the track. Clint Bowyer though was still leading laps with Jamie McMurray stuck in second place and Tony Stewart back in the top five this was another good green flag run that lasted until 94 laps left in the race as Mark Martin smokes big time due to a tire going down.

The caution brought in the leaders and Clint barely beat out Tony Stewart for the lead of the race off pit road. This time Tony Stewart on the outside was able to get the lead of the race, but right behind him though with 86 laps left Carl Edwards gets a little loose which then causes Carl to get into Denny Hamlin to spin him out. Denny fell back from fourth place down to 22nd.

Tony Stewart needed one lap after the race restarted again to cleanly get the lead of the race. Then at lap 78 it was even more chase drivers spinning out as Kurt Busch in fifth starts spinning out. Then Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson spin out. Kyle did wind up with some small rear fender damage. This caution though did bring in a bunch of cars on the lead lap for service. Tony Stewart, Jeff Burton and Clint Bowyer do stay out.

Tony Stewart easily gets the lead again as the race restarts. This was another short green flag run and with 67 laps left Matt Kenseth winds up spinning out with help from Brad Keselwoski.

As the race restarted again Jamie McMurray was able to get the lead of the race. It was another short green flag run and with 59 laps left it was Joey Logano and Elliott Sadler spinning out. This time after the race restarted Tony Stewart needing a lap to get the race lead.

With 45 laps left Jimmie Johnson comes down pit road to deal with what could be a loose wheel. With 7 laps left Clint Boyer passes Jamie McMurray for second and starts to chase down Tony Stewart. With 25 laps left it was Tony with a 1.5 second over Clint Bowyer. With fewer than 20 laps left some drivers were worried about fuel. Denny Hamlin though has been told that he has enough fuel as he starts to chase down the leaders.

With four laps left Tony still had a lead over one second on Clint Boyer. With two laps left Tony Stewart winds up running out of fuel. Jeff Burton also runs out of fuel. Clint Boyer takes the lead with Denny Hamlin closing in really fast, but Denny did not have enough time as Clint wins the race.

"I hate to win races like that," said Clint Bowyer.

"Made a run at him(Clint)," said Denny Hamlin. This team is tough.

"Its hard to loose one that way," said Tony Stewart.

Dale Jr. stated that he felt like he had a top ten car.
