IRL Driver Dan Wheldon Died Today After Suffering Injuries
from the worst wreck of the 2011 racing season. The wreck occurred on lap 12 of the race as one car got loose and caused 14 more cars to completely wreck. Many cars suffered majot damage due to the wreck.
Pippa Mann and J.R Hilderbrand also went to the hospital as well.
The race was 100% called off after 2 plus hours of red flag time and then the drivers decided to do five laps around the track in tribute to the driver. The wreck though finalized the championship winner though as Dario Franchitti won his third championship.
