According to reports, police are trying to determine if they need to put the Philadelphia Flyers mascot on ice for punching a 13-year-old boy at a team event back in November.

Chris Greenwell told The Philadelphia Inquirer that Gritty “took a running start” and punched his son Brandon “as hard as he could” after the boy playfully patted the mascot on the head after taking a photo with him.

Despite the allegations, Gritty has stayed active on social media.

The team says they have found no evidence to support Greenwell’s claims but police say the investigation into the mascot’s alleged assault on the boy is “active and ongoing.”

“We took Mr. Greenwell’s allegations seriously and conducted a thorough investigation that found nothing to support this claim,” the team said in a statement.

Greenwell, who claims the son cost him $300 in hospital bills, isn’t buying what the team is selling and has discontinued his season tickets.

“That tells you enough right there when you won’t let me see the video. If you have nothing to hide, you would show the video,” Greenwell told CBS Philly. “But they told me there was no video. I’ll always be a Flyers fan, but I lost a lot of respect for the team after the way they’ve treated a long-time season-ticket holder after this.”
