During an on-field, pregame ceremony, the Detroit Tigers will recognize the 2008 Michigan Queens' support of Pennies for Paws. The 2008 Michigan Queens, as selected through the Miss American Coed Pageant, will be at Comerica Park to raise awareness of the program and encourage fans to donate to Pennies for Paws.  Celebrating more than 25 years, Miss American Coed Pageants have been the country's most popular, natural pageant for girls.  These pageants reinforce the confidence and natural beauty that is within each girl.

Since April of 2008, Pennies for Paws has raised more than $13,000. The Detroit Tigers have partnered with the National Fish and Wildlife's Save the Tiger Fund to create Pennies for Paws, a coin collection at Comerica Park that raises funds to save endangered wild tigers. Fans are encouraged to donate coins at the tiger bank located on the concourse.

The Tigers provided 800 complimentary tickets for Sunday's game to students and family of Our Lady of Sorrows School in Farmington, who collected $3,613.79 to support Pennies for Paws.

All Sunday home games are Kids Days at Comerica Park, sponsored by Pepsi. In addition to every kid receiving a Justin Verlander Youth Cap, children can enjoy free rides on the Comerica Bank Carousel or the Fly Ball Ferris Wheel courtesy of Red Robin, free face painting at Gates A and B, and Pack Attack near Gate B at 11:45 a.m. Tigers Kids Club Members have the exclusive chance to be one of the Kids Starting Nine, sponsored by Big Boy, and take the field prior to the start of the game, deliver the lineup card to homeplate or announce the first Tigers batter over the public address. Additionally, there is a chance for all kids to win one of four kids' bicycles, compliments of Meijer. After the game all children are invited down to the field for Kids Run the Bases, courtesy of Pepsi and Upper Deck Trading Cards.
