Misc Rangers MiLB Notes...

--Well the El Duque experiment has come to an end after the Rangers released Orlando Hernandez and activated Luis Mendoza.  Not a surprise since he reportedly had an out clause in his contract starting Monday which he was expected to activate after the Rangers told him he would not be added to the major league roster.  Reportedly Neftali Feliz is the next pitcher to be called up.

--Congrats to RedHawk Esteban German who represented the Hawks well in the AAA All-Star game and earned the PCL Star of Stars.  Unfortunately the PCL's come back fell short and the IL will once again have "home field" advantage during the Bricktown Showdown.  Here's hoping my Paw Sox are the IL winners!

--Speaking of Esteban, TR Sullivan speculates that the Rangers may call up Esteban German next week to spell Ian Kinsler who is pretty much stinking it up this month.  Esteban would have to be added to the 40-man and a spot on the 25-man would need to be cleared for him.  I suspect a pitcher, maybe Doug Mathis or Dustin Nippert, will lose his roster spot.  If its Nippert, that would also create a spot on the 40-man since he is out of options and would have to clear waivers to be assigned to OKC.  Matt Harrison could also be added to the 60-day DL to make room on the 40-man.

--The Chris Davis situation is getting interesting.  I had originally thought he would go up when his 10 days was up (a player optioned to the minors has to stay down 10 days unless they are called up to replace an injured player).  He's playing well, the strikeouts are down, and yet he is still a Hawk.  In the back of my mind I am starting to think he may be in OKC until September 1 when rosters expand.  This is supported by the fact that the Rangers plan to have David Murphy spend some time at 1B.

--Speaking of Chris, Gil Lebreton has some speculation about he and Justin Smoak.

--The Rangers have moved personal favorite Derek Holland into the rotation yet again and he starts tonight.

--Beau Vaughan is at it again, this time interviewing personal favorite Brennan Garr and his girlfriend.

--Red Sox fans can blame my sister and brother-in-law for today's loss in Toronto.  They made the trip to Toronto for the game and the Sox are now 0-4 at games they attend! LOL
