Misc. RedHawks Notes...

--Exciting game Thursday huh?  Huge walk-off double for personal favorite Royce Huffman in the bottom of the 9th for the come back win.  Unfortunately last night didn't go quite as well.

--Chris Davis has returned to the Redhawks lineup and pretty much took up where he left off when he was called up last year.  He's likely only to be here for a couple of weeks, so hopefully we can get some wins under our belt now.  It seems that he is still a nice kid though I will admit that he doesn't seem quite as cool as last year.  Of course, that is to be expected after his spending the past year in the big leagues.

--Several moves in OKC this week.  Max Ramirez hit the DL to make room for Chris on our roster.  As I speculated would happen, the Rangers released Nate GoldJulio Borbon returned to the Hawks lineup and Steve Murphy hit the DL.  Another one will come today when Kris Benson is activated to start Game 1 of the DH.  My guess is that Clayton Hamilton either hits the DL or is sent to Frisco.  Speaking of today's DH, what idiot possibly thought that a 1:05 game would be a good idea in the middle of July?!?! A little further down on the farm hitting prospect Mike Bianucci was promoted from Hickory to Bakersfield.

--Frisco is the 2nd half leader in the TL South Division so far.  Huge game Thursday for ex-Hawk Adam Fox who hit 2 solo HRs in the same game.  Blake Beavan earned his first AA win.  Personal favorite Andrew Laughter is on the inactive list with I assume an injury.  Interesting note about personal favorite Brennan Garr who seems to have bad luck with defense when he is on the mound.  In only 22 IPs so far this season in Frisco, he has 6 unearned runs scored against him, the most of anyone on the team.  Personal favorites Mitch Moreland and Tim Smith have stayed hot in Frisco, sporting a .331 and .320 average respectively.  Speaking of personal favorites, Kasey Kiker is sporting the best ERA of any Rider starter and has logged the most innings (84).  It's not an issue yet because of the jam log in pitching, but it will be interesting to see if he is promoted to OKC after the trade deadline, assuming the Rangers make some trades of course.  They have been very careful to promote him at only 1 level per year, but he looks ready for the challange.

--Bob Hersom has articles up on reasonably new RedHawks Guillermo Moscoso and Justin Smoak.

--Despite my campaigning (and 3426 votes!) personal favorite and ex-Hawk Carlos Pena finished 4th in the AL All-Star vote which was won by Brandon Inge (who I voted for 843 times after I realized Carlos wasn't going to win).  Thank god I have unlimited texting! LOL  Speaking of the All-Star Game, ex-Hawk Nelson Cruz was named to the All-Star Team as a replacement for Torii Hunter.
