This March will be different. Really.
Sure, every NCAA Tournament has its own distinct narrative. Some featured unlikely champions or Final Four participants (think of Jimmy V, Princeton, George Mason). Some had inspiring personal stories (Bo Kimble shooting free throws left-handed). Some had cast of characters who were immortalized on celluloid (just this week - "Runnin' Rebels of UNLV" and "The Fab Five").
This year, however, we also have the first fundamental change of the tournament format in a quarter century, and three more networks have been added to the mix to ensure each games will have its own dedicated feed. All the better for us to see if new names will be etched forever in tournament lore.
Think of Jimmer Fredette, Kyrie Irving, Harrison Barnes, Jared Sullinger. And then there are old standbys: North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, not to mention 11 teams out of the Big East Conference, each ready to write a new chapter in their voluminous tournament history.
Before filling out your bracket pool, it may be best to scoop up some information on what you should be looking for - and where to find it. That's where we come in. These are our Top 10 NCAA Tournament Storylines:
