Andy Roddick has been the face of U.S. tennis for the last decade. In 2003 he won the U.S. Open just after celebrating his 21st birthday and later that year was ranked No. 1 in the world. But that was the last and only time he has won a major and also the last time an American man has won a major.
Because of his early success and the fact that he is easy on the eyes and charismatic (although sometimes short-tempered), Roddick has been a media darling and endorsement cash cow. He is one of two tennis players to ever have hosted Saturday Night Live and he has garnered big endorsements from high-end brands like American Express, Lexus and Lacoste. And to cap it off, Roddick is married to Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker.
Roddick is now a few months short of his 30th birthday and injuries and age are catching up to him. He has made just one quarterfinals appearance in a major since 2010 and is currently ranked 29th, behind fellow Americans Mardy Fish and John Isner.
