Besides Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and Rob Gronkowski’s ankle, the person that got the most attention at Super Bowl XLVI media day on the Patriots' side was Chad Ochocinco. The media surrounded a wide receiver that had just 15 catches and 276 yards all year.
His numbers have declined in each of the past three seasons but he remains a media darling. While compiling 1,000-yard receiving seasons with the Bengals he delighted fans with clever touchdown celebrations like using the pilon as a putter, leaping into the "Dawg Pound" in Cleveland, giving out gifts around Christmas, and holding up a sign that read, “Dear NFL, PLEASE don’t fine me AGAIN!!!!!!”.
This year though, Ochocinco managed to avoid controversy and he drew praise from his teammates for being so professional. That doesn’t mean he still didn’t have a little fun. In January, a fan tweeted him complaining that Ochocinco had never responded to any of his tweets. Ochocinco responded by inviting him to the playoff game against the Broncos. It’s this side of No. 85 that causes fans to love him and the media to keep covering him.
