As horse racing eagerly awaits the Belmont Stakes with possibly the 12th Triple Crown winner in I'll Have Another, here's a reminder that no jockey has dominated the sport of kings quite like Eddie Arcaro.

No one has won more Kentucky Derbys than Arcaro, who took it five times in a 15-year span (tied with Bill Hartack). For that matter, no one has won more at either the Preakness and Belmont Stakes as well. Arcaro's first Derby win was aboard Lawrin in 1938 and his last on Hill Gail in 1952.

In between, he also won the Belmont Stakes and Preakness each six times. His 17 wins in Triple Crown races is a record, with Bill Shoemaker a distant second at 11. The only jockey in history to ride two Triple Crown winners - Whirlaway in 1941 and Citation in 1948 - Arcaro was inducted into the Racing Hall of Fame in 1958 as he also was instrumental in the creation of the Jockeys' Guild.
