If Ovechkin weren’t a hockey player, he’d be the creepy guy that you try and ignore on the subway. But since he’s famous, his creepiness turns to endearment.  If you combine his trouble with the English language with his lack of singing ability, it makes for a most entertaining Eastern Motors commercial.

From his famous $14 haircuts to his antics on the ice, Ovechkin just seems like a little kid enjoying life. His most common goal celebration is jumping into the boards in what looks like pure glee, but recently he sparked some controversy with a new celebration. After scoring his 50th goal of the season, Ovechkin dropped his stick because it was too hot to hold. Famous hockey analyst Don Cherry thought it was over the top to have a choreographed celebration like that, but when the NHL has become a fringe sport, any bit of excitement is good for hockey. If there were more players with the skill and personality of Ovechkin, the sport wouldn't be buried on a cable channel like Versus.

And when he's not working on his goal celebrations, he's tooling around D.C. on Segway tour, or nearly decapitating himself (and teammate Mike Green).
