The local news is beginning to report on how the insane amounts of traffic will impact your travel plans. Christmas trees can already be spotted in windows. No one is doing any actual work at work. It can all mean only one thing: Thanksgiving is here. And with it comes the second edition of our Ten Least Thankful People in Sports.
Last year we took a look at many who could probably be considered for this latest installment. Cubs fans. Matt Leinart. Boise State. Isiah Thomas. They all had a forgettable 2008, and 2009 didn't get much better. But others are turning it around. Vince Young has regained his job as Titans starting quarterback. Even Roger Clemens is no longer in the news (something for which we can all be thankful). But with a whole new sports year comes a whole new list of those who might struggle to find something to give thanks for before sitting down to turkey and mashed potatoes.
Thursday is the time for everyone to take one day out of their lives and give thanks (by over-eating, of course). Those within the world of sports are no exception -- playing games for millions of dollars, winning championships and establishing new world records give many plenty for which to be thankful. However, what about those who had a year they would rather forget? Be it a dejected city's fan base, a coaching legend seeing the end is near or an entire county who feels cheated, there were plenty who may not be quick to give thanks. These are our Ten Least Thankful People in Sports for 2009.
