Yes, "tornado" is both a terrible movie and an actual Olympic event (but thankfully, no signs of Bill Paxton). Tornado, a high-speed class of sailing, is sometimes referred to as "the formula one" of its sport. For those not up to par on their sailing terms, a tornado " is a high performance sailing catamaran." The event was first introduced to the Olympics in 1976, and the pair of Roman Hagara and Hans-Peter Steinacher of Austria has won gold in the last two Olympics.
