Much of the talk of the 2010 World Cup is focused on the struggles of some of soccer’s international superpowers. The troubles of the French are well documented, as they are in the midst of a coup and the team is all but eliminated. But France is not the only power in real danger of failing to advance out of group play.

England, Germany, Italy and Spain still have work to do heading into their final group matches. Any of these teams failing to advance to the knock-out stage would be a major disappointment and surely create shock waves back home.
