There has been so much controversy surrounding Brett Favre in the past few weeks, but this isn't the first time he has been involved in something controversial. In 2001 heading into the last week of the regular season, the Giants faced off against Favre and the Packers. Michael Strahan was just half a sack shy of Mark Gastineau's record of 22 sacks in a season. With just under 3 minutes remaining in the game, Favre rolled out and fell at the feet of Strahan who simply touched Favre down to set the record. There is a lot of information that has led many to believe Favre allowed Strahan to get the record-breaking sack.

-Prior to the game, Favre joked that he had made a side deal to allow Strahan to get the record.

-The play called in the huddle was a run play and Favre changed it. He said he was trying to catch the Giants off guard.

-The Packers were up 34-25 with under 3 minutes remaining - who in that situation doesn't run the ball to kill the clock?

Strahan ranks 5th all-time in career sacks at 141.5, but there will always be a shadow surrounding his single-season record of 22.5 sacks.
