#10 PGA Majors Without Tiger
Padraig Harrington won two straight majors. He won the British Open and won the PGA Championship in 2008, but he won with the best golfer ever sitting at home rehabbing his knee. Tiger Woods won the U.S. Open on a torn ACL and gave him his ninth victory in 12 starts. He was as hot as he'd ever been. But surgery on his knee took him out for 6+ months. With Tiger sidelined at his peak, how much stock can be put into Padraig's victories? Everyone is looking for competition for Tiger, but Harrington will not be it, just as Sergio Garcia, Vijay Singh, and Phil Mickelson haven't been. Before Woods' knee injury he was a 5-to-2 favorite to win the British Open. Once he was ruled out, the favorites -- Els and Garcia -- had 12-to-1 odds. No one in golf gets odds like that except for Woods. He is the best player in the game and will continue his dominance in a matter of time.
