Teddy Roosevelt once said about Taft, the country’s 27th president, that he should give up riding because it was "cruelty to the horse.” At over 300 pounds, Taft was the heaviest Commander in Chief, and once got stuck in the White House bathtub (he had an oversized one brought in to remedy that problem).
Although he was the first president to throw out the opening pitch to begin the baseball season, many credit Taft as the creator of the 7th inning stretch, apparently after he got tired sitting for too long.
