The NFL is the most popular sport in the country and millions of fans have been waiting for the start of the season.  Kickoff is on Thursday and there is a lot to be excited about.  The top level athleticism and intensity are unmatched.  With each week of the season you will see exhilarating runs, amazing accurate 60 yard throws, and bone-crushing hits. 

But not everything about the NFL season is as great as we have built it up to be in our heads over these 7 football-less months.  Just look at week 1.  With more penalties than any other week, offenses not on the same page, and players still trying to knock off the rust, week 1 can be quite an ugly site.

In fact, there are quite a lot of ugly parts of the NFL, some are ugly in a good way, and others are just plain ugly.  Ugly injuries are a common occurrence, ugly contracts plague the league, ugly uniforms are abound – specifically some of the throwbacks the NFL will highlight this year, and in the case of the Oakland Raiders, it’s just an ugly franchise all around.  Just some of the Ten Ugliest Things in the NFL.
