Giants Defeat Vikings with Favre Out

Although they had struggled with him this season, the Vikings were not competitive without Brett Favre. Their opening 3-0 lead would not hold as the Giants dropped the Vikings in Detroit's Ford Field, 21-3. New York was powered by its potent rushing attack (7.6 yards-per-carry for the game), led by Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw, both of whom went over 100 yards with a touchdown apiece. Favre's replacements, Tarvaris Jackson and Joe Webb, struggled to complete 17 of 35 pass attempts for just 103 yards and an interception.
