Amare Stoudemire topped 30 points for the ninth straight game; however, it would not be enough to earn the Knicks their ninth straight win. Paul Pierce sank a fade-away jumper with 0.4 seconds left to put Boston ahead by two and Stoudemire's three-point rebuttal was waved off as the Celtics edged the Knicks, 118-116.
