Colombian Defender Kicks Owl, Faces Charges

When an injured owl interrupted gameplay, Deportivo Pereirea defender Luis Moreno kicked the bird off the field. As if that wasn't bad enough, the owl was a good luck charm for host Atletico Junior. Moreno is now the target of animal rights activists, Atletico supporters, and league officials as he may be fined, suspended, or at least forced to pay the now deceased bird's medical bills.
