Though Connecticut led by ten at the half, Kentucky would come storming back. A three-point barrage early in the second half brought the Wildcats back in the game but they were ultimately unable to get over the hump. Shabazz Napier drained two huge free throws with two seconds left to extend UConn's lead to four and Brandon Knight's game-ending three just narrowed the final margin. Kemba Walker once again led Connecticut with 18 points and seven assists as the Huskies advanced to the championship game, 56-55.
