With one out and runners on first and second in the bottom of the eighth, Royals' first baseman Kila Ka'aihue hit a ground ball to first. Though the Indians' attempt to turn two was unsuccessful (both runners were ruled safe on the play), they did not come away empty handed. Thinking he had been called out at second, Billy Butler wandered off base. Asdrubal Cabrera called for the ball and was able to tag Butler out before he realized his mistake. This error helped kill a Kansas City rally in a game that Cleveland would win in 10 innings, 7-3.
