Anibal Sanchez Falls Short of No-Hit Bid

A first inning error denied Anibal Sanchez a chance at a shutout, but the Marlins' right-hander did just about everything else. Sanchez held the Rockies scoreless through eight innings before yielding a hit to Dexter Fowler on the first pitch of the ninth. Fowler was doubled-up on a line by the next batter and Sanchez completed his one-hitter with a Carlos Gonzalez groundout. Sanchez struck out nine batters on 123 pitches.
