Mavs Rally Past Lakers, Take Game 1

After a horrendous close to the second quarter in which Dallas spotted Los Angeles four points, the visitors bounced back in the second half. Dirk Nowitzki finished the game with 28 points and 14 rebounds and Jason Terry chipped in 15 off the bench as the Mavericks outscored the Lakers by 11 in the second half en route to a 96-94 win. Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 36 in defeat as the Lakers surrendered home court advantage and fell behind the Mavs, 1-0.
