Pole Vaulter's Pole Snaps

On Monday at the IAAF World Championships, Dmitry Starodubtsev of Russia was attempting to reach a pole vault height of about 19 feet when his pole snapped in half. Luckily he landed safely on the mat but he injured his hand in the process and withdrew from the competition.
