Clemson fell behind 14-0 in the first half and Alabama looked like they were headed to back-to-back national titles. Clemson cut the lead to 17-14 in the second half, but then it was soon 24-14 in the 4th quarter and Nick Saban looked like he was headed to his sixth national championship and fifth in eight seasons for Alabama.
Then the game happened. Finally, with one second left, Clemson had a 35-31 lead and it was Dabo Swinney holding the trophy, becoming one of only five active head coaches to win a title.
What more can be said than what a game.
